Terms of Use & Privacy
Last updated October 21, 2026. Please read these terms. By using Predicting the Score (the "site"), you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. What this site is
Predicting the Score publishes sports statistics, computer-generated win probabilities, projected scores and related analysis, along with figures from outside sources. The site is free to use. Accounts are optional and free, and there are no payments. It is provided for information and entertainment only.
2. Not betting, financial or professional advice
Nothing on the site is a recommendation to place any bet or wager, make any trade, or spend money. We are not a sportsbook, a betting service, a tipster or a financial adviser. We do not take bets, handle money, or sell picks. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or paid by any sportsbook, prediction market, fantasy sports operator, league or team.
Where the site shows numbers derived from sportsbooks or prediction markets, they are shown only as data (a win chance) for comparison, not as an offer or invitation to bet.
3. No guarantees
Sports outcomes are uncertain. Our forecasts are statistical estimates and will frequently be wrong; a 70% favorite is expected to lose about three games in ten. Past accuracy, including anything shown on our accuracy page, does not guarantee future results.
The site relies on data from third parties that may be delayed, incomplete or incorrect, and the site may be unavailable, slow or contain errors. The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
4. Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for any decision you make, including any decision to bet, and for any money you win or lose. If you choose to gamble anywhere, you are responsible for being of legal age where you live (21 or older in most U.S. states) and for following all laws that apply to you. Sports betting is illegal in some places.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Predicting the Score and the people who run it will not be liable for any loss or damage of any kind arising from or related to your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content. This includes, without limitation, gambling or betting losses, lost money, lost profits, or any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, even if we were told such loss was possible.
6. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Predicting the Score and the people who run it from any claims, losses, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the site, your bets or other decisions, or your breach of these terms.
7. Outside sources, trademarks and links
The site uses data and content from outside sources, including ESPN, Kalshi, Polymarket, DraftKings (via ESPN), The Prediction Tracker, Sagarin ratings, Manifold, Open-Meteo, Wikipedia (CC BY-SA, with credit on each page), UFC.com, public Bluesky posts, and headlines from ESPN, CBS Sports, Yahoo Sports and ProFootballTalk (each linking to the original story). These sources are credited where they appear. We do not control them and are not responsible for their accuracy or availability.
Team names, league names, logos and other trademarks belong to their owners. Their use here is only to identify teams and games and does not imply any affiliation or endorsement. Links to other sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content. Our Discord server and subreddit run on those platforms, under their terms and privacy policies as well as these. We only point to official, legal ways to watch or listen to games.
8. Using the site fairly
Please don't use the site for anything unlawful, try to disrupt or overload it, scrape it in bulk, or resell its content. We may limit or block access that harms the site or other visitors.
9. Accounts
- Optional. Everything on the site works without an account. An account just saves your profile: a display name, a short bio, your mascot's cap color, and the sports and teams you follow.
- Age. You must be 13 or older to make an account.
- "Call it" is just for fun. Calling who wins a game is a free game with no money, prizes or odds. Your record is only for you, and it isn't betting advice.
- Keep it clean. Your username, display name and bio must follow section 8 and can't be offensive, impersonate someone, or advertise betting services. We may change or remove accounts that break these rules.
- Your password. Keep your password and recovery code private. We can't see your password, and without an email on file the recovery code is the only way to reset it. If you lose both, the account can't be recovered.
- Leaving. You can delete your account at any time from your account page. That removes it from our server for good.
10. Privacy
- Very little personal data. We never ask for your email, phone number or payment information, and we don't sell or share personal data with anyone.
- If you make an account. We store your username, your profile (display name, bio, cap color, favorite sports and teams), the calls you make on games and how they turned out, when you joined, and your password and recovery code in scrambled form (a one-way hash, so nobody can read them, including us). Your profile is private: only you see it.
- Login cookie. When you log in, we set one cookie that keeps you logged in for up to 30 days. It isn't used for tracking or advertising. Logging out removes it.
- Deleting your data. Deleting your account from your account page erases your account, profile, saved calls and logins from our server right away.
- No ads or ad trackers. The site has no advertising and no third-party tracking scripts.
- Settings stay on your device. Choices like your view settings, followed games and game alerts are saved in your own browser's storage, not on our server (if you're logged in, a copy of your profile and your calls is kept there too, so pages load fast). Clearing your browser data removes them.
- Basic connection data. Like any website, our server and our network provider (Cloudflare) receive your IP address and browser information when you visit, to deliver pages and prevent abuse (for example, limiting repeated wrong passwords). We don't use it to identify you, and we don't run visitor analytics.
- Outside services. Team logos and player photos load from ESPN's servers, UFC fighter photos from UFC.com, and pictures on the News page from the outlet that published each story, so those sites also see those requests under their own privacy policies. Everything else, including our fonts, comes from our own server.
11. Questions
Questions about these terms or your data? Ask us on our Discord server. You can delete your account and everything saved with it yourself at any time from your account page.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. If gambling is a problem
If gambling is causing you or someone you know harm, free and confidential help is available 24/7: call or text 1-800-GAMBLER, or visit the National Council on Problem Gambling.
